If one takes over a public path going through his property and provides an alternate path, he is not allowed to do that. However, once he designated an alternate path, he can no longer reclaim it as his own. Why is that the case? Regarding the cases in the mishna of the minimum size for an individual’s path, public path, etc., some alternate opinions are brought as well as some other cases not mention ed in the mishna and some explanations for some of the sizes.
